Marketing & Research Associate
What I love about my work: I joined Zen of Slow Cooking in 2016 right after my last child left for college. Meg showed up at my door and said, “You’ve been retired for 6 weeks now, come work for me.” Working with the Zen team has given me the opportunity to experience new ways of thinking about business and marketing. Meg and Jane have created a connected enterprise that seeks to consciously create a better business model and I am energized by re-viewing marketing through this lens!
Professional background: I’m originally from the East Coast with an MBA from Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC-Chapel Hill and a background in consumer brand management (Richardson-Vicks), advertising (Kraft, Quaker, Kellogg), and professional services marketing (GreenAssociates Architects).
When I’m not working: My outside time is committed to reading, drinking coffee and working out – I like to kickbox and weight train (with weak attempts at running). I also mentor two college students through College Bound Opportunities. It is interesting and gratifying! Finally, with two daughters very involved in theatre, I see more than my share of plays and musicals.
Favorite Zen blend: Indian Dal is really my go-to spice blend because it is so versatile. You can create so many meat or vegetarian dishes with it.
